Purple Starburst – Pamphobeteus sp. “Machalla”
This is a stunning Pamphobeteus species females are brown with the classic bronze Christmas tree markings on the carapace. and males are bright purple. As spiderlings they are the turquoise and have an orange abdomen with black diamonds running up it.
Hati Hati Purple – Cyriopagopus sp. “Hatihati”
A recently discovered species of Cyriopagopus from Indonesia in 2012, “Hati Hati” is actually Indonesian for be careful or Take Care. A beautiful purple and black species with a light yellow carapace and is smaller than other Cyriopagopus species.
Violet Tree Spider – Tapinauchenius violaceus
Tapinauchenius never seem to have the popularity of Avicularia or Psalmopoeus presumably due to their smaller size. This is a shame as they are an attractive species not requiring much space, also easy to keep and breed. Spiderlings can be fragile and require humidity and will not last long if kept to dry.
