P. tigrinawesseli which was previously known in the hobby as Poecilotheria sp. "tigris" is a new species found in 2004 in northeastern India. This species has similar colouring to P.formosa though it is infact more closely related to the darker P.miranda. These species has been described in 2006 by Andrew Smith in the May BTS Journal.
