An attractive mid sized species with tiger stripe markings on the abdomen. The carapace is purple in colour with a distinct pattern from the foveal grove unlike the C.fasciatum seen in the hobby. This species likes to live out in the open and is a heavy webber so makes a great display species. These are very quick growing and easy to breed, they can produce an eggsack in as little as two weeks after mating.
